The Coalition organizes activities on World COPD Day, a partnership between health care groups and respiratory educators to raise awareness about COPD that was held for the first time on November 20, 2002.
The Coalition marked the first-ever World COPD Day with a major media event in Washington, DC. Claude Lenfant, MD; Eve Slater, MD, Assistant Secretary for Health, DHHS; William Bailey, MD; and baseball great Roger Clemens spoke to the press about the burden of COPD in the US and the need to raise awareness of the disease.
